Programme Manager
The Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT) is an independent social venture think tank based in Hong Kong. A core activity of GIFT is its Global Young Leaders Programme (YLP), a two-week executive leadership development programme which places corporate executives in non-corporate settings in Asia to work with partners and social entrepreneurs in developing innovative business and investment plans which also have a positive impact on society. Over the course of planning and facilitating 15 previous programmes GIFT has earned a reputation as being at the cutting edge of executive education.
Due to growing global interest in the YLP, we are looking for an experienced Programme Manager who will lead the process of identifying and evaluating potential partner organizations for upcoming programmes. In addition to securing projects the ideal candidate will also work with the GIFT team to support the follow through and implementation of the business plans once the programmes are completed and also help to plan, produce and manage programmes onsite in various Asian countries.
Job Description
The Programme Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing an active network and database of social entrepreneurs, development agencies, NGO’s and other potential partners through comprehensive research, field trips, phone calls and networking in order to build a consistent and robust pipeline of investable projects
- Supporting the successful implementation of projects by identifying and contacting potentially interested investors and companies concurrent with the project scoping as well as following through with interested parties once the programme is completed
- Planning and delivering YLP projects with the GIFT team including managing programmes in the field
- Working to develop and refine business models and financial projections of projects throughout the process
- Understanding the YLP methodology well and thinking creatively about new project angles and their delivery in order to keep the programme fresh and innovative as well as evaluating new areas of expansion for the programme which can also be linked to new business development
- Providing regular updates to the GIFT team on the ongoing pipeline of projects as it is developed as well as potential investors or project partners who will be involved in implementation
- Potentially supporting other GIFT work such as delivering workshops, organizing forums and writing articles
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual with 5-10 years work and field experience to develop his/her career in a new and rapidly growing field. The ideal candidate will be eager to engage in leading edge work developing sustainable investment solutions in Asia and playing a key role in creating a new approach to executive leadership development.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5-10 years work experience including business planning, proposal writing, stakeholder engagement and some knowledge of finance for investment plans
- Existing network of contacts within social enterprise, development agency, business and NGO sectors or the ability to quickly develop such a network
- Preferred project management experience and prior experience &/or willingness to engage in field work
- Preferred MBA or a Masters degree in a business-related subject
- A strong desire to be a part of business-oriented initiatives that also have positive socio-economic development impact in the region
- Detail oriented, self-starting, adept at networking, able to multi-task to meet deadlines
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Fluency in English; native or high proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese (preferably both)

Job Description

- Planning and delivering YLP projects with the GIFT team
- Building GIFT’s network of social entrepreneurs in Asia and contributing to the identification of suitable projects for the YLP
- Potential involvement in other GIFT related work such as delivering workshops, organising forums and writing articles
- Supporting marketing and sales efforts and performing administrative duties as needed

- Prior project management experience preferred
- Researching capabilities combined with excellent writing and presentation skills
- Fluency in English; native or high proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese (preferably both)
